What is the KickStart Award?
Entries for phase one of Converge Challenge 2016 are now CLOSED.
A competition for an early-stage idea for a new product, or service. To support early stage ideas by providing enough funding to enable the project to create a prototype or to secure IP rights. The winner will receive a £3,000 cash injection that will help to kickstart their business venture with a runner up receiving £2,000. For a full list of prizes please click HERE.
The Top 30 projects receive two days of invaluable business support training and are expressly encouraged to apply to the main Converge Challenge the following year. The winner is automatically eligible to be fast-tracked to the following year's Converge Challenge Top 30. As an example all three Converge Challenge 2015 winners have been part of our top 30 previously and in the case of Rebecca Pick of Pick Protection, she was a previous runner up of the KickStart category in 2014.
Previous project winners ideas include: wearable technology, synthetic plaster casts; dementia aids; methods of preventing infections; state-of-the-art computer vision techniques for 3D face and finger tracking; web portal that pools events; robotics; interactive apps etc. Click on our ALUMNI to read more on this.
